How to accept Meta's non-discrimination policy

Meta paused your ads until the non-discrimination policy is accepted. Two cases (by you, or for your system user) and the exact steps.

Written by Paul

Meta pauses ads until your business has accepted Meta's non-discrimination policy (Meta's Discriminatory Practices policy). Depending on who ran the ad, the policy has to be accepted in one of two places, below. Once it's accepted, your ads restart automatically, usually within a few hours, and you don't have to switch anything back on.

Before you start

You need full control of the business (an admin) to accept the policy. If that isn't you, forward these steps to whoever manages your Meta business. To open your settings, go to business.facebook.com/settings, or click Open your Meta Business Manager settings on the Adwisely banner (it opens the correct business for you).

Case 1: accept it as yourself

  1. Go to facebook.com/certification/nondiscrimination, or accept the prompt shown in Ads Manager or Meta Business Suite.

  2. Review the policy, then select I accept.

Case 2: accept it for the system user (Adwisely)

Adwisely manages your ads through a system user in your Business Manager. You don't need to pick a specific system user, the steps below certify the policy for all of them:

  1. In your Business Manager settings, on the left under Users, select System users.

  2. Select Add (the blue +Add button).

  3. Review Meta's non-discrimination policy, then select I accept.

  4. You don't have to finish creating a system user, select Cancel to close the box. The policy is now accepted.

What happens next

Once Meta registers your acceptance, your ads restart automatically, usually within a few hours. You don't need to do anything else in Adwisely, and you don't need to switch the ad back on yourself.
