Why Exclude Certain Products from Ads?

Optimizing Ad Performance: You might not want to advertise every product in your catalog. Removing products that are unprofitable, out-of-season, or low-performing can improve your overall ad performance.
How to Exclude Products with Shopify Tags
Excluding a product from Adwisely’s Google and Meta feeds is done by adding a special tag to that product in your Shopify admin. Once this tag is added and saved, Adwisely will automatically omit that product (and all its variants) from any Google Shopping or Meta advertising feeds going forward.
Steps to exclude a product from Adwisely ads:
Open the Products section in Shopify.
Choose the products you want to exclude.
Click the … button in the menu above the list of products.
Click Add tag.
Add the Adwisely Exclude tag. Make sure the tag text is exactly Adwisely Exclude (using the same spelling ensures consistency).
Save
That’s it! Once the product is tagged and saved, Adwisely will detect this tag and exclude that item from the product feed it uses for Google and Meta ads. In other words, the tagged product (including all its variants) will no longer appear in your Adwisely-powered Google Merchant Center feed or Facebook/Instagram catalog updates. This ensures the product won’t be shown in any new ads created by Adwisely.
Note: You do not need to tag each variant of the product. Tagging the main product with “Adwisely Exclude” automatically covers all its variants, preventing any variant of that product from appearing in your ads.
Tip: If you later decide you do want to advertise a product that was excluded, simply remove the “Adwisely Exclude” tag from that product in Shopify and save it. The product will then be included again in your Adwisely feed during the next synchronization cycle.
